What we did in 2018

In true Zita style I've left this a bit to the last minute to write so I'll make it brief as we sign off for another year and look forward to what the New Year will bring.I did make time to get sparkly nails ready for 2019 though :)I'm not going to  talk about New Years Resolutions because you have every multi million pound commercial organisation bombarding you with that in the media, instead I'm going to offer you a simple piece of advice. If today was your last day on earth what would you wish you had done more of and what would you have wished you had done less of?Such a simple question but one that should guide you to make any changes this year that you see fit. Those of you on my email list will know why this question was so pertinent to me as I had an accident before I flew to Thailand on holiday earlier this month.{you can subscribe to my fortnightly emails with health and fitness hints & tips by clicking here Follow your heart, listen to your own voice and not that of others - there is only once chance so make sure you make the decisions that serve you the best at the time you are making them. Hindsight is a wonderful thing, but we can only make decisions at that current moment, so live in the present, wear the nice clothes - what are you saving them for? Do the things that excite you, that take you out of your comfort zone and maybe scare you a little, and look after your health because we only have one body to live in so let's look after it.So write down what you'd like to do more of in 2019 and any actions you need to do or habits you need to change to achieve that. One of mine is going to be getting to bed earlier which also involves turning my phone off earlier. That one change can have a huge impact on so many tother things so instead of getting overwhelmed by doing too much, what 1 or 2 things could you start with? For most people drinking more water would be a good place to start. You need to write it down otherwise it is just a thought, even better read it out loud to someone else as that concretes it deeper into your mind.Anyway here are a few of my highlights from 2018 in pictures and words underneath2018 May - Bath Carnival Fundraiser BootcampJune - Our first "Revive & recharge" Retreat in Morzine, France (next one June 2019 has 1 space left)Also in June I was featured in Bath Magazine in the double page "Bath @ Work" featureSept - Nourish Food Awards Gala dinner at Cheltenham Racecourse, that I was part of judging panel for in the summerNov - Our first "Revive & Recharge" day retreat in Bath (date for next one coming soon)Dec -  A podcast that I was interviewed for in the summer went out on iTunes.During the year we also had several social events including some beautiful country walks followed by food and also Picnic in the Park event in Alexandra Park, as well as Aerial Yoga workshops. On a personal level I was lucky enough to go to 6 countries this year and it would have been 7 if I had said yes to working in Tanzania as the personal trainer at a retreat. Here are a few photos of the beautiful places I visited and if you don't already follow my Instagram page- click here to see all things fitness, food, travel and of bit of skateboarding on boxing day!Zita's travel in 2018So if 2019 can be as good as this year I'll be very happy :)Thank you to all of you for your support in 2018 - here's to a great 2019 ( Zest will be 10 years old!) and if any of you need a kickstart to your fitness our next trail week at Zest Bootcamp starts Jan 7th so still time to join us.
