The last 10 years
Time flies so the end of a decade seems like a good time for reflection so here are some of mine.11 years ago I set up Zest Bootcamp (so that isn't strictly within the last decade) but over the years it has gone through a variety of changes including a name change from Bath Bootcamp which it was originally and we have a great community of Zesties in Bath, plus we get involved a lot with the community and support charities. You can see more onto Zest website including how we ended up on ITV West News this autumn!10 years ago we also set up a company manufacturing fitness equipment of which the Ztrainer was the first item, a UK made suspension trainer that was fairly priced and simple to use. It was sold on Amazon and directly to customers all over the world. It was an amazing thing to do and I learnt SO much as well as being taken well outside my comfort Zone but decided not to carry on as my real passion is working with PEOPLE and not products. I still use the Ztrainer at bootcamp, with 1-1 clients and myself but you can no longer buy them.Over the years I have also :Written a monthly column for the Bath Weekend Magazine that came free with the Bath Chronicle and also been featured in several other places as shown in the photos.I also created the TOTAL BODY SHAPE UP PLAN that won an award and some other awards including Best Independant Fitness Business in Bath.In 2013 I volunteered to be a Jamie Oliver Food Revolution ambassador which involved spreading the world locally about healthy eating and cooking, especially for children, so I organised an event in Green Park Station on food revolution day to help spread the message ( it taught me that organising events take a LOT of time and energy!)On the food theme I have been a judge at The Nourish Awards for the last 2 years which has been a very interesting exploration into the world of "clean" free from foods that are also ethical and taste good. Primarily focusing on categories that include dairy free, sugar free, gluten free, vegan, paleo, gut friendly it's a great chance for some of the smaller producers to get their products showcased. Entertaining River Cottage cook, Naomi Devlin hosted the gala dinner awards evening.I also stepped way out of my comfort zone and ran my first retreats in the UK and abroad in France which were a great success and a wonderful way to help women over 40 recharge & revive themselves. This December I received a surprise from Women Mean Biz ... Runner up in Best Networker ... well I do love to talk to people and get people together so makes sense :)The next 10 years... not sure I can plan too far ahead but we already have a fully booked retreat in June going back to Morzine in France and plans are underway for a retreat in Portugal, as well as more UK ones. Also BREAKING NEWS.... if you are over 40 and like music or dancing then check out our exciting new event Funky Over 40 coming on 4th April. There is a Facebook group set up so get in touch and I can add you so that you are first to get access once tickets are released.I will also be looking to offer some new ways of helping people with their health and nutrition in the future so watch this space. On a personal level I am looking to practice more yoga and in particular improve my balance as that is a weak area for me. I plan to continue to travel the world and to increase my knowledge on subjects I am passionate about including menopause as I head towards 50.I will of course continue to share my passion for pink!So thank you if you have been part of my last 10 years and I wish you health & happiness for the years ahead.Zita xP.S There were also a lot of mistakes made over the last 10 years which I won't go into, including getting involved with things that I wasn't passionate about but I learnt lessons from these so no real mistakes - just learning opportunities :)p.p.s Don't forget to follow me on INSTAGRAM to keep up to date :)
